Sage North America have begun mailing some prior conference sponsors with information about exhibiting at their upcoming Sage Summit 2014 event to be held July 28-31, 2014 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV. The 2014 prospectus reveals several things.
First, Sage is expecting 5,000 total participants. That’s up from the 3,000+ which they advertised in their 2013 mailing to potential exhibitors. After the 2013 conference the official number of 2013 attendees was given as 2,000 .
Second, costs appear to have risen. In 2013 a platinum sponsorship cost $30,000. In the just release prospectus that sponsorship is $75,000. An Ala Carte cost for hosting a session is now $10,000 whereas in 2013 the price was $4,750. The lowest exhibition fee is $8,000 for a kiosk whereas in 2013 a 10×10 booth was $5,750. Sage have countered some complaints about cost by explaining that they now supply all the booth material so exhibitors no longer have to setup or take down a booth.
There are some changes which make comparisons between 2013 and 2014 more difficult. For one the layout of the event in 2014 seems likely to change with more learning opportunities happening in and around the exhibit area which could materially increase traffic for exhibitors.
Secondly the attendance in 2014 may be substantially greater than in 2013 when Sage officially claimed about 2,000 attendees but the total was likely closer to 1,500. What remains to be seen is how many of these attendees are in an exhibitors target market and how many visit the trade show floor versus the casino floor.
